Behind The Scenes With Pia Mance & Olivia Boyd-Smith

In conversation with Olivia, Founder of Par Olive, and Pia Mance, Founder of Heaven Mayhem, a shared approach to ritual, design, and daily discipline. The collaboration reflects a simple idea: that even the most functional essentials can be elevated – designed with intention, and made to be kept

How did you and Pia meet?

Pia and I were introduced through a mutual friend and met in LA, where we instantly connected—both in our approach to entrepreneurship and as Australian founders abroad. After that first meeting, our relationship really flourished. We had a shared mindset when it came to building our businesses and a strong focus on health and wellness, which made the connection feel very natural.

How did the idea for the product come about?

Pia and I were having breakfast and talking about the small, everyday rituals we both prioritise. Capsule containers came up—and how clinical and outdated they often feel. With such a shared focus on wellness and intentional living, it felt like a gap. Why wasn’t there something more elevated? Something you could carry in your handbag, whether day-to-day or for a weekend away. From that conversation, the concept came together—a beautifully designed capsule container that fits seamlessly into your routine.

What inspired the design and concept?

We were really inspired by the idea of heirlooms—things that are passed down through generations. That could be rituals, small objects, skincare, or jewellery. We wanted this piece to capture that feeling. Something beautiful and considered that you could gift to your mum, that she could pass down to you—something to keep and truly treasure.

Who is the woman you’re designing for?

We’re designing for someone just like us—the woman on the go who wants to feel elevated in her everyday life. She’s intentional, she values quality, and she’s thoughtful about the pieces she invests in—whether that’s what she wears or the rituals she builds into her routine.I think that’s why it resonates—it’s designed with her in mind at every step.
